BepiColombo Begins Its Approach to Mercury
On August 18, the BepiColombo spacecraft began its approach phase to the planet Mercury. It was launched in October 2018 and travelled toward its goal for almost eight years.
This is a joint mission of the European Space Agency, ESA, and the Japanese agency JAXA. On September 3, the transfer module, which helped the spacecraft on its journey, will separate from it.
