Drones Strike Two Cargo Ships off Bulgaria
On October 13, drones struck two cargo ships in the Black Sea off Bulgaria. Bulgarian officials reported the attack. One ship sank. Five sailors were rescued, and another eleven were missing.
The second ship was also damaged. It had 15 sailors aboard: seven Ukrainians and eight Azerbaijanis. They were all rescued. Officials said three drones attacked the ship.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said there was not yet reliable evidence identifying those responsible. He added that these events benefit Russia. Bulgaria asked the EU and NATO to help it monitor the sea and airspace. Rescuers are continuing to search for the missing sailors.
